The application deadline for JNU’s PhD programs in the 2025-26 academic year is June 30th, 2025. Selection for these programs involves a two-stage process:

Computer-Based Entrance Examination (CBT): All applicants must appear for the CBT exam. The qualifying marks are 50% for the General category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD/EWS categories. However, achieving the minimum score doesn’t guarantee a place in the viva voce.

Viva Voce Examination: Shortlisted candidates based on the CBT score will be called for a viva voce exam.
