NEW ANNOUNCEMENT FROM UGC-DEB
University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a new guideline for admissions to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) programs offered by Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) recognized by the Commission. As per the new procedure, candidates must first obtain a Distance Education Bureau ID (DEB ID). This unique identification number is provided by the Distance Education Bureau to allow learners access to DEB services and resources.
To create a DEB ID, it is mandatory to have an Academic Bank of Credit ID (ABC ID). If you do not have an ABC ID, you can easily generate one through DigiLocker. It is important to note that a DEB ID is required for all learners, except for international students. Without a valid DEB ID, admission to ODL programs will not be possible.
